I had one go while on holiday in Wales early in the year, I found a small garage that got one out of another BM they had rusting away round the back to get me going, I still haven't replaced it (although nothing seems to be wrong with the car at all), but piece of mind and all that.
I want to get a couple so I also have a spare but which ones?

Original fiment were Delphi other makes listed here, Bosch appear to be slightly cheaper.

I recently had the same issue so I swapped all of mine out with NGK 48206 coils. I also swapped out the spark plugs with NGK iridium ILZFR6D11. Simple DIY job

I had a coil go in early 2017. Replaced just that one and got a spare just in case. That spare is still in the boot, unused.

Personally I don’t get the change them all thing. I wouldn’t change all four tyres if one of them got a puncture.

It's because failures do seem quite closely related to age - and since they are all the same age....

They are pretty inexpensive in the grand scheme of things. Certainly much less expensive than a new cat which gets damaged when unburned fuel is passed through it. And then there is the inconvenience of it all when you are out in the middle of nowhere, or perhaps the hard shoulder of the M1. It makes a lot more sense to change them all in the safety of your driveway / garage to me.

I only changed them all as a precaution as they've been in the car since new, so 13 years. It probably wasn't necessary to, but just in case.

I don't know what's happening with Bosch of late. First their oil filters and now their coil packs. Used to be such a dependable brand (assuming they are genuine of course, which you would expect from Eurocarparts).
