E85 2004 Electrical Woes

Take the neg terminal off the battery while the green plug I’d disconnected….then reconnect the battery but still keep the green plug disconnected.

Start the car and see what happens?

The green one.

Great thanks.

Ok I have taken the connector off and it appears my issue is not the Airbag module as the symptoms persist

Does anyone know what these are (the blue and red connectors) and what they are called?:

I assume that they are connectors that are used for adding in extra electricals such as illuminated gearknobs and gaptech etc.

Can I just pry them open and take out the wires that aren't needed or is it more complicated than that?

Again, many thanks for any help.

Mark

They are called Scotch Locks, and yes you can pry them open and easily remove the added wire.

To remove coin tray you have to slide either a credit card or plastic removal tool down the back and with a bit of jiggling it will come loose eventually once off remove plug and then you will be able to see if there is any damage but to actually remove it centre console will have to be removed not a job for the faint hearted good luck and just to make you aware once plug is pulled and removed you will not have airbags so be careful
