E85 2003 - Parking Sensor Module fault?

Hi all,
I have a odd issue with mine, all genuine BMW parking sensors are clicking when engaged but noting happens when the sensors are covered up.
Having compared how they should work when near an obstacle with my E91, I can only assume there is a comfort module fault?
I don't get any noise at all unlike many of the other posts I have read.

Any ideas chaps, where would the module be located?

Have they been working while in your ownership
Or never worked

Never worked since we bought it a couple of months back. The back end is so short, its not an issue but I woukld like to fix it if possible
