E85 2.5i Sport front shock absorbers

I require to replace my front shock absorbers. Everywhere I look for parts it suggest that Bilstein B6 are the ones to go for.

I have ordered and received new B6's, but unfortunately they don't seem to be the right size. I'm totally confused.

The part number on the front right shock absorber is 3131 6770344

The part number for the Bilstein B6 is 35-124108

The Bilstein B6 (35-124108) piston is longer than the original.

Any ideas where I am going wrong.
 
If I remember right the piston comes out further on different makes, Sachs ones are the same as original. It shouldn’t make any difference, just easier to get the spring on as you don’t have to compress so much.
