Hi there,

Long time reader, first time poster.

Anyways, I'm looking at purchasing an intake http://www.bmcairfilters.com/infoCDA.asp but the one I'm looking at is currently listed as only for the 3.0i. My question is whether there are any differences between a 2.5i intake and a 3.0i intake and whether it would fit on my 2.5i. I have phoned the company up and they are unsure. Other alternative is a universal one.

Also, could someone please confirm whether the diameter of the intake pipe (after the sensor where the airbox joins to) is 3.5'' in diameter or 4'' in diameter for a 2.5i and 3.0i?

Thanks alot

Eric

Have they any before/after dyno outputs, or pressure drop measurements with their system vs standard?

The standard BMW filtration and intake system is exceptionally efficient on these engines in standard form.

Don't want to sound pessimistic, but there are better £200 upgrades out there, FAR better £200 upgrades, that won't even need declaring on the insurance etc :)

Eric - you ask if the systems are the same. I don't think so, as looking on Realoem.com different part numbers are quoted for the 2.5 and 3.0

Happy to supply and details of the 3.0 if you need them - just let me know.
