E46 diff - does it fit the zed?

Hi guys,

My diff has started making to knocking and my mechanic says it needs refurbishment, a cost around £500.

There seems to be loads of diffs for sale online with the same ratio of 3.38 from a E46. Does anyone know if this will fit the Zed?

I read somewhere you can put an e46 diff in... I saw a z4 e85 diff on ebay recently, buggered if I can find it now though!!

It appears as if an e46 diff would sell for far less. Anything from £50-£150. If they fit i will go for this option.

Doses anyone know of the drive shafts are the same from an e46 as well?

Get your car up in real oem, go to the diff and click on the part no. This will tell you what else was fitted with that part number. I've got a 3.0 m54 on the lift at the moment that also needs a diff, and have sourced one from another Zed with identical part number.
