E30 V10

Not quite my kind of thing, but a cracking engineering project. It also just happens to use a E30 body shell, why :? I don't no, personal taste I guess.

Why bother because it's awesome!! I live this stuff I wish I had the time and money and a bit more knowledge and skil to do this kind of stuff!

If I ever win the lottery I will travel the world then spend the rest of my days doing stuf like this.

Thanks for sharing Mark.

We could have a workshop M & M more money than sense speed shop

Clearly they have done a fantastic job, I loved it till I saw the dash and thought they should have kept the original clocks etc. But apart from that brilliant.
Then I read the comment below the vid and thought, I have to agree with some of the you tubers, why not start with a 318 or something than waste a rare E30 M3, would have been a damn sight cheaper as a base for the project as well.

Appreciate the engineering effort but the E30 was a deeply mediocre car 30 years ago and shoehorning a V10 in and spending 1000's of hours and £££s won't make it 'better' whatever that it. So as an academic / engineering exercise, fill yer boots but the end result will still be deeply flawed. Torsional stiffness of a banana.

I still wonder how a car like this would drive.
I mean if you build a performance/racecar, its usually form follows function, and the way the body looks is completely secondary.
This is of course the opposite, where the e30 shell is dictating everything underneath. I wonder where corners were cut.
Still, if you're taking that route, this is probably as good as its gets. The craftmanship is awesome in this project.

I appreciate the work that has gone into this, and have no issue with the owner wanting to do it - even if only to prove it can be done. His car, his choice!

But why waste an M3 shell FFS (unless he got one with a scrapped engine)? Given the extent of the modifications surely any E30 shell would have worked just as well?
