E-Petition - Rioters Should Loose All Benefits

Why should we support people who have no regard for society?

If the petition reaches 100,000 signatures it has to be referred to the backbench business committee of MPs.

http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions?order=desc&sort=count&state=open

That's if you can get on the site to sign it as it's swamped at the moment.

I'm going to keep trying.

Sounds like a great idea but totally unenforceable ( human rights cobblers again )
Plus take away the scrotes benefits how ells are they going to fund the fags and special brew , that's right tea leafing from hard working folks like us.The government need to get these kids into jobs and give them some self worth . There is plenty of million-billing pound company's out there that could provide these kids with training subsidised by the government even if this means a wage plus top up from the government as in benefits, so we dont get the old argument " iam better off on the doll than work" Iam sure most of the kids with the right encouragement and time and effort could be turned around into decent law abidding people . Its simple how nice is it to hear your boss say well done your done a good job , makes you feel good about yourself its the same for these kids, as there piers we need to take the time and make the effort , i know that some kids are just beyond help but we shouldn't give up on them. I would like to see the next prime minister state that every kid leaving school will be guaranteed training or apprenticeship.
Please dont get me wrong iam appalled by what is going on but taking away there benefits is not going to make it go away , its a disease we need a prevention not a cure.

Unfortunately that encouragement should start from their parents, but they too are scumbags and breed the next generation in their likeness.

One of the parents was on TV last night, came across as a decent law abiding citizen, he made no excuses for his off spring and commented, What am i supposed to do, I am not allowed to lock him in his room it's against the law, I am not allowed to smack his arse, it's against the law. Whilst I think he probably lacks a bit of imagination in regards to disiplining his child I also believe he makes a valid point. Are we now reaping what we have sown !!!!

Pretty much agree with Nosa on this one except we are actually reaping what the political elite and trendy theorists have sown without any regard to the views of the majority.

Surely you have all realised by now that the views of the majority like us are scorned upon by such people as these. They know what is best for us and thats what will happen whether we like it or not.

Gordon Brown let the mask slip a little on the election trail when a lifelong labour supporter reasonably raised fears about the effect on our small Island country of mass immigration.

Our parents only voted to join a Common trading community of Europe. That is the only mandate the politicians have but look how far it has gone without any further ratification by the people. Look at the mess it is!

We don't live in a true democracy although we all like to think we do. The petition will have no effect long term I'm sorry to say. Maybe some short term soundbites about action, that is all.

100% support here, just such a pity they couldn't spell 'lose' correctly...

The prevention is simple.

Anyone with an IQ of <100 (and sadly thats a large part of the population) should require a breeding licence.

Interesting comments, however politics is thee most subjective subject on earth , next to religion .Until those in authority switch on the objective part of their brains , I fear there will be trouble for many years to come .The paradox I have been struggling with for many years is, does society create people or is that people create society, ultimatly I feel it is a top down process.
The definition i tend use for democracy is ; more or less unconsciously consent manipulated without force . We have the markets, media and advertising to force and manipulate us . Many of the rioters were career criminals , some had jobs , some had high status within society and many got caught up in moment , stuff for free. Why did it happen ,was it because the signals sent out by those in power ( top down) bankers, politicians and plutocrats ripping of the system to suit themselves , the fault of the police , government , education system, parents , who knows.
Industry will always need epsilon minor semi morons to service the Alphas, thus eugenics is not an option.
This blog http://pme200.blogspot.com/ is the most sensible peice I have read , we aleinate these people at our peril, I for one do not want to live in a totalitarian state ,

Society has a massive influence on people, but without doubt people clearly create society as illustrated by the laws that are put in place for the most part (but not all) for the common good, it's just in a constant state of evolutionary change.

Biggest thing to come out of this is the unity shown by the vast majority of the UK, as has happened in the past, in times of trouble people pick a side that gives them the greatest security... I may like to sing along to the Sex Pistol's version of Anarchy in the UK, but I don't want to live in total chaos... would never be able to take the Zed anywhere.

I'm afraid I don't buy this 'caught up in the moment' crap.

People make choices and anyone on the streets in the middle of that lot was an idiot and guilty by association. Decent, intelligent people would have been miles away within minutes of it kicking off.

The youth of this country have been failed to a great extent by 'the system' which has let a load of wet-behind-the-ears woolly minded bloody liberals take any and all power away from teachers, police, courts, prison service and others, while failing to make parents (assuming these twats have any) accountable. That and our easycome, easy go consumerist society are probably the two biggest issues here.

When you've had teachers ringing you at home to complain that little Johnny wrote a rude word on his schoolbook and what do you want them to do about it, you realise just how far down the toilet this country has slipped in terms of its ability to raise its children.

much reserche has been done on crowds , a couple of quotes from Nietche : "Insanity in individuals is rare - but in groups, parties, nations, and epochs, it is the rule " and " When a hundrend men stand together , each of them loses his mind and gets another one ". Since Nietches day much study has been done with goups and crowds and the consensus is, people do lose their minds in groups , think of Abu Ghraib, football crowds, hysteria at concerts, ect . I do feel people can get caught in the moment .

Yes , people do create policy ,which in turn has an effect on society , however , I feel that its an eletist few that are making policy .
It has been fascinating the unity shown by most of the population , even tho' much of that majority will disagree with government policy , there is hope .
People have been failed by the system, the causes I feel are not that complex to understand , the credit crunch and the collapse of the banks who were exposed to sub prime mortgages , credit crunch 2 which may happen next year , the banks are exposed to state debts of various countries.

Why is everyone looking for someone else to blame?

Stealing is wrong and everyone who decided to go looting knows that. Everyone of them had a choice and they chose to run with the mob and then chose to steal. They need to be punished.

I feel its not a case of blame , its easy to point fingers. The establishment *must* look for cause .

Do we as individuals have a choice of who and what *we* are ?

:headbang: :headbang: :headbang: WTF

I have to work to get money, oh actually i don't, i could become a dosser and rip the state off and have no self respect. I choose not to!

I don't believe something should come for nothing so every pointless knob scamming social should have to work for their money, if it means emptying dustbins with the refuse guys, sweeping streets, helping the disabled, elderly, whatever, they should all do some work for their dole cheque. It would teach them respect and value and help them to become useful to themselves and others. Those who can't be arsed to work, want to steal etc etc etc make a choice and a conscious one!!!! There are plenty of people in this world who work their nuts off and are grateful to be able to do it to end up with far less than that shower of sh!the4dsd
No sympathy here - rant over - sorry

No need for apoligies , discussions good , we all start from a position of our own biases and prejudices, my self included , a perfect example is ; one mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist. There are many scamming the social , this to us, is moraly wrong and they should be hunted down and their benifit stopped, to them this is life .

There are many criminals and pathalogical families who do make that rational choice to live by crime , generally those are the guys at the top of the ladder making an exellent living from crime , those that cant be arsed to work , I am sure that they are in the minority. As for people working for the state for social moneys , I do feel that is going down a dangerous path, sounds to much like communism

Why be gratefull for a job ? you are providing your energy to make your employer money , no one should ever feel gratefull for a job , think im starting to show my colours :D

Do I sympathise with these people? , I do feel for graduates that cannot get work , I feel for teenagers who cannot get work or training , I empathise with people who are struggling with mortgage payments , who live their life in fear wondering if they will be working in 3 mnths time. As for those that cant be arsed to work good luck to them are they ever gonna have the joy of a zed
