E 89 needed

Thanks for the link, I checked it out but very low on options ( almost povert spec )
I will carry on my search and not try to rush out and buy. Out there is a car with a few more options for the same sort of money waiting for me.

Didn’t really look myself—no iDrive screen, which I’ve never seen before / assumed was always fitted! But would replace with CarPlay anyway… and no heated seats—unthinkable!

Good luck.

Newbie here divin' in at the deep end.
Looking for a car 2009 to 2011 for reasons of price.
Ideal car would be 3.0 manual, but I am open to persuasion on automatic.
Would lilke sensible miles around 80 thousand and some service history.
As an option is the 2.5 worth considering, I know they are not as fast but would like some thoughts from owners,
I have heard there is a specialist dealer in Northampton called Zackery Luke who seems to get good feedback, anyone have any experience with this company ?
I am based in mid Norfolk and willing to go 100 miles from home so no cars in Scotland or Cornwall ...
Sorry for so many questions, all advice welcome.
Thanks in advance.

I tried to PM you but not sure if you have received if you are interested in an 3.0 si auto PM me

Hopefully I am not too late to throw in my brief recent experience after purchasing a manual 3.0 with 125000miles.
The 80k 2.0 manual I tested was a big disappointment, particularly compared to my E39 525i, just had no urgency and sounded like a basic 3series, not a sports car. The 2.5 23i, also with 80k sounded nicer and certainly had more oomph but I walked away as the Msport suspension would have been intolerable in Devon.
Finally test drove my 3.0 30iS and was blown away; engine, gearbox and clutch feel tight with no slack and the performance in all six gears is astonishing.
So do not exclude cars with over 100k until you drive them but remember as someone on here told me, judge your prospective purchase on condition and recent service history which should be full of receipts from an enthusiastic owner rather than someone who visits their dealer annually and cannot tell you what needs doing. And as for lots of owners, I thought the same until a salesman pointed out to me that it has been an owners new car each time rather than something they lost interest in years ago.
Good luck testing as many as you can and don't be afraid to travel for the right car.

Thanks for your input. You confirm manny of my thoughts, not interested in 2.0 and concentrating on the 3.0.
Have two cars lined up with good spec and history. Both sensible miles and good condition. Final decision soon !

Did you get sorted. This is the one near Pontefract I referred to earlier in the thread, that we have now decided to sell. https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2100787#p2100787 - it really is a lovely car and very reliable.
