Dyspraxia...anyone with experience..?

Bonjourno,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Dyspraxia, my 12 year old son has recently been assessed and has it quite badly, given the right teaching he’ll be fine, in fact the professor who assessed him has it herself, but any experiences would be useful as it’s completely new to us. We’ve looked at different schools and have settled on two, depending on common entrance of course, with good facilities for it, so any input would be most welcome.

I thank you. :)

Yes our son has mild dyspraxia. He was basically a right hand full from cot to comp. He was also very bright and enjoyed taking the P out of his teachers. Happily we all had his swimming to focus on. Left school with no qualifications worth out.

Currently working in New Zealand, earning more than me. Current girlfriend is an Oxford grad and Doctor.

Let him grow is all I can advise. Eventually he will find what works for him and probably excel at it. Unfortunately any help you , your family and the system, think you are offering in the mean time, may well be seen by him as interference and get a negative response Not what you want to here simply the previous experience of parent. It's a one way street. Give all you can, expect nothing in return. :)
