Dyno live data testing

A couple of months ago while driving my 35i I noticed a pulsing exhaust tone when accelerating in a higher gear under load which would then stop over 4k ish revs. Took my bm indy garage guy out in it to see what he thought, possible o2 sensor was his thoughts.
Booked it in for live data testing on their dyno to see what was going on, they concluded that fuel trim was off in bank 2 and was looking like the pre cat o2 sensor.

Image of their screen showing both banks where you can see one is off

Car has been back in this week for the new o2 sensor to be fitted which apparently is a bit of a pain to get at, then put back on the dyno to test again and all is now good.
This garage have looked after my car for the past 8 years and put the stage 1 map on it all those years ago, cars now on 61k miles and I've done 18k with this map on it and she hasn't lost any of her ponies and is healthy and strong.

This was their dyno power printout, not bad for just a stage 1 and Milltek cat back system.

I've also got a couple of short videos on the dyno which I will try and add in the comments 😉

Edit....looks like I can't add the video's 🤷‍♂️

Good to hear you got the problem solved, and it's keeping well. I love how we Brits mix units with such aplomb, the plot of Hp and Nm

No idea how to add videos off my phone or even if it's possible so just a couple of stills I'm afraid

Nice write up..pity there was never a dyno run when stock..

JWS that did the mapping for me didn't have their own Dyno at that time, they used a company SLT to send the cars stock files off to, they did their tweaks to our requests and JWS flashed them back on to the car, it's worked spot on since.

Sure ..just the pedantic likes to see a baseline then tune to see the relative change and also to see how the dyno compares to other dynos…a dyno figure in isolation is just subject to ‘what if’…

Still plenty of poke..

Yes it's the seat of the pants feeling that counts, figures on paper are just figures and from memory the change from the standard 302bhp and 400nm felt vast and still feels fast with strong pull throughout the rev range in every gear, it's very infectious and don't really think you need much more for ours roads.
