Am I right in thinking it takes no more than a week to receive the V5 these days when you buy a second hand car?

They seem to be pretty quick these days - Assuming the seller has sent it off pronto of course...

If you need it sharpish, you could always give them a call and they should confirm that you are the new keeper and the V5c has been printed/sent.

When I did the plate change b4 chopping my old Z4 in it took 3 days for the new V5.
I'm having some problems with sytner Audi (where my latest Zed came from) about missing info and the salesman not replying to emails or returning calls so before i chuck my toys out the pram, i trying to decide whether to chuck this into the pot too :D

Really! I hope mines quicker as my wife's parking permit uses the private reg so she hasn't been able to use the Z4 yet!... wait, I'm seeing an upside here

Was that for the E85 John? :o

Yes mate.
How did you get on with the steering? I was very tempted with that car as a toy but I don't know enough about mechanics so bottled it!

Andy Fanshawe who posts the 'Z4 2006 restoration' thread on here has run a scan on it, it's showing the ABS pump so far, he's just bought another more detailed scanner as well so as soon as I'm fit to drive again we'll run another scan, hopefully that'll be next week all being well.

I've got new discs and pads all round ready to fit which I'll do in the next couple of weeks along with caliper painting, I'll give it a full detailed service, some 224 alloys are ready and waiting to go on, ive a new DA polisher ready. It's just me that's holding things up now but I'm not fit yet.

It all sounds in hand and I hope it gets sorted easily but don't overdo it health wise! Mind you, if you do don't forget I've got first dibs on the 35is

Too late, I have a (backdated) PM where John left it to me.

Oh the powers of working in IT 8)

No point in waxing it any more then, it's destiny is to tow a log trailer around the estate...

Remember to leave the E85 to pastry, can't leave him out
I'll settle for that, you'll find the 35is on bricks as Smartbear has had the wheels :P

I found a set of 224s in the back of the kitchen, just putting those on.

My first v5 took 4 weeks and had to be returned as there were errors in my name. The replacement took another 3 weeks. Then I changed my plate using the online system and that v5 came within a week
So I think it may depend on whether a human has to process it or if it is churned out by computer.
I almost rang several times but the website said allow a month. Viv
