Dunhill Lighter Help

Just looking for some advice, is there anyone on the forum that's into old Dunhill lighters?
I have my dads old Dunhill Rollagas circa 1970s. I don't know anything about lighters (non smoker) but I would like to get it serviced and in working order.

Is this a DIY or specialist job? Where can I get parts for it? Or at least a service manual?

Any help appreciated, cheers :)
 
Have you a local auction house? They might be able to point you into the right direction. Or maybe an antiques shop, they can be helpful as well.
 
Just seen this, jewellers like goldsmiths still sell dunhill lighters and will happily return it to them for a service. Ideally your best to return it to them to fully service the lighter.

Other places that can assist would be local tobacco/cigar shops as they will probably stock dunhill lighters. Or places like selfridges (possibly) and definitely harrords.

We have a few of DuPont lighters and given the design of them it seems very unlikely we could service them ourselves correctly and I expect the dunhill ones to be similar.

Yep they seem complicated enough, different refill canisters and gas flow mechanisms so don't think I'll attempt it myself.

Ive seen service estimates for £120 and through dunhill is £150, which is tough as you could probably buy a working one for that price off eBay, however it's more for sentimental value so needs must.

Yes, I know what you mean. I spent £500 on a good service of my late father Omega Constellation. It's probably not even worth that much, but it meant a lot to me and it looks stunning now. I would say spend the money if you have, you will have nothing to regret then.
