Due to jack car up-

Hi all-im after painting my calipers sometime soon,and been looking over various posts about jacking points,driving on wood,axle stands etc,-can i double check if i remember reading that if i want to paint the rear one i can use my 2 tonne trolley jack under the front jacking point and it will lift the whole side of the car up enabling me to put an axle stand under the rear jacking point,if this sounds okay i was going to leave the jack at the front end just taking the weight?-sorry im not a noob to this but my e46 was half a ton heavier than the zed and i used the trolley jack with pieces of hard wood under the middle rear to support it-thanks for any advice.
 
I jacked up my rear using the rear jack point then used a axle stand on the thick arm closest to the chassis.
Also chock the front wheels.
Release the handbrake will help when you need to clean off the spilt paint on the disk.
Ps loosen wheel nuts before jacking up. :)
 
Don't use the diff!!! The rear jack point is where the two struts meet just behind the diff, diff jacking is specifically mentioned as a No No by BMW for the M at least!!
 
Any new thoughts/pointers to this as im going to do it this weekend-did a search but it starts to get that many differing opinions,its difficult to know the correct one :?
