Dual mass vs single mass flywheel

Hi - I'm a long term member but been out of the z4 game for a few years. Just bought my second - an 385 3.0i roadster in blue.

It needs a new clutch and the local BMW specialist has said the car has a single mass not dual mass flywheel and therefore its unlikely to need replacing along with the clutch. I assumed they ALL had dual mass.

Am I wrong or is the 'specialist' going barmy?

Thanks

As far as I am aware, on the early (2003-2005) 3.0i E85, the flywheel was single mass for automatics and dual mass for manuals. I am sure someone smarter and wiser will come along soon to correct me if I am wrong. :P

my 2003 3.0 manual definitely has a dual mass. i didn't bother changing it as they are expensive, and the play whilst seems bad, looks similar to the new ones i saw online.
