Hey everyone,
This morning my '06 3.0si failed to start (the weather here has been unusually chilly lately). After jump starting it (cranked for more than a few seconds and had to press gas pedal), the DTC light and yellow BRAKE light turned on, and my brakes felt like they were clamped on the wheels even though I was not pressing the pedal, and the steering wheel took much more effort to turn. I turned off the car and waited approximately 20 minutes before trying again (really had to get to work today). On this second try, everything felt normal again and the lights had disappeared from the dash. With all of that being said I have a couple questions:
When I install a new battery later today, do I need to go through the process of "registering" the new battery, or is the Z4 I have too old to worry about that?
Are the appearance of these lights enough of a concern to go get the car checked out? Based on what the manual said, they signify a malfunction of the DTC, DSC, and DBC... but the lights and symptoms I had explained above went away.
