DSP system

Hi , was wondering if anyone could tell me what DSP is and how it works. I foolishly turned it on and all it seemed to do was intermittently change radio station I’ve turned it off but still changing stations by itself . It never did this before cheers
 
Thanks skelters , but still got problem of changing station , this must have something to do with the RDS but wasn’t happening before
