DSP Equalizer settings

So, i tried the settings in my Z4MR for a while now. I found that it was good, but not excellent. I love when the medium range is clearly above the rest, and it was missing a bit in that regard. So i just pumped up a bit the medium range (500 Hz and 1 kHz) and it sounds much better to my own taste.
Still not as good as my hifi setup back home, but well, it's just a car, you know... :D

After ages trying to find the best settings, I stumbled upon this post and it's made a massive difference... thanks!

I altered my DSP to these settings just now, but lowered the 80hz a little more as the subs pop on rock music and added one more on 1k and then treble/bass upto +3 and +4 respectively and i now think i've got the perfect sound for me :)

Put them back now or I'll get upset, I used a thread on hear to set up and thought it was pretty good.

Tapatalking on my iPhone.......

The DSP in the roadster is poor considering what it costs to spec it on the car. Our X5 has bog basic system and it sounds great compared to the roadster. Have messed about with the DSP settings and have set it to what sounds the best.
I'm with you, had DSP in my old 535 and it was spot on great sound so it was a must in my 1st Z4 and what a
Disappointment total bobbins  so it was a no no on the next Z

IMO, that response curve after settings has come into effect isn't a whole lot better, still very sharp peak/troughs

Anyone else noticed their rear speakers are very quiet? All the faders etc set as expected, but I'm not getting a lot of noise from the rear

x2

i seem to get most sound from the side as i did with my 2.0 which had the boggo stereo....

it does sound better but not massively

i am going deaf though

Did this today - and wow - sounds so much better!!

I do find tho that it only sound amazing when its loud and when you lower the volume there is still too much bass so i have to turn that down a notch each time. however this could be the difference in sound quality between radio/cd and MP3

Oooh - just made these changes and MUCH better. I've turned Room and Echo down to minimum - is that correct?

Just applied these settings, big improvement!  I did add some more bass and treble though.

But what should I do with the Echo and Room settings?

Just to resurrect this thread, turning the auto volume increase down, seems to also affect the loudness setting. Turn it down for a big improvement.
