DSP - digital or analog

I have an 06 built z4mc and am based in Australia. I want to buy DICE Mediabridge but the guys asked me if I have DSP, and if its digital or analog.

So I went to BMW and they looked up my car specs via the VIN number and apparently it has DSP, but it doesn't show up a code for digital, so therefore must be analog.

Does anyone know if it would be digital or analog?

Is that what BMW said?

To be honest I thought they were all digital - DSP = Digital Sound Processing - and that if you have it you need an additional box after the DICE, analog to digital, in order for it to work. Certainly when I looked at these things it was simply a case of DSP, yes or no, to determine whether an additional box was needed - neither the DICE or Dension instructions mentioned a analog option.

I am sure that is right, but no doubt someone will confirm.
 
It is analog ...

The older versions were digital, newer (including all M) analog.
 
And why DICE ... it is not great.

Go for Intravee instead, much better option assuming you have satnav.
 
How easy is it to istall the Intravee?.I am watching one on ebay but a bit aprenhensive after a bad experience with a Dice unit i had on my old Z4.

Easy enough. Especially if I can do it. You need the alpine kca420i also, if you're going to be using an iPod.

I'm thinking DICE because they have the USB option, Intravee only has iPod connectivity. I only have a 2g iPod so would therefore need a new 16g or 160g iPod. Plus the currency exchange rate between the $AUS and Pound isn't go.

Whereas the $US and $AUS are comparative.

Yes I have satnav.
