DSP Carver system no sound but head unit working

Having a really annoying problem with the stereo in my '03 e85 3.0i. Most of the time recently I have no sound from the speakers but the head unit seems to work properly - switching between sources, playing cds, selecting stations etc. Then sometimes I will get music for days in a row.

I have the 10-speaker Carver DSP setup with the amp in a well in the boot, behind the battery. The amp never switches off while the car is running, or when the engine is off. It only ever happens when the engine is fired up. It was working today, but when I started the car, silence again.

I've read fault codes with Carly and it throws up two for the HIFI:
00611D Error code 17: power supply and 006128 Error code 28: not met speed test condition.

Given these codes, and as the amp seems to go dead when starting the car, I have a feeling that starting the engine is maybe drawing too much power away from the amp and sending it into some sort of power-saving limp mode. Could that be possible? And if so, anyone any ideas on how to remedy it?

Having read all the other posts on the topic I can find, the cause of similar problems always seems to be water damage. I'm pretty sure my amp has never flooded, although it may have got a small amount of engine oil on it from a leaky bottle in the boot (not sure what damage if any that might have done - engine oil is apparently not a conductor).

Hoping there's another solution rather than sourcing a second hand amp, which is both tricky (not many for sale) and expensive!

Quick check, Did you find out the root cause of 006128.

I’ve just had this code come up and doesn’t seem to be a common one.
