DSC Unit Fault

Hi Guys, I have a fault with the ABS/DSC pump unit on a 58 Reg BMW Z4 3.0si Sport Coupe E86. The faults are, Hydro Unit Pump Motor x 42 Permanent Fault and Hydro Unit Pump Motor Connector x 41 Permanent Fault. My question is, is it unsafe to drive the vehicle in this condition. Cheers.

As long as you take it steady it will be OK.

You wont have:

Hill Assist
ABS
Stability control

You will have restricted RPM's

Best to get sorted though for obvious reasons.

Thanks srhutch. I have had it refurbished once before a couple of years back but would ideally like to get it replaced now. Would you have any recommendations as to where I could purchase a new unit from and have it fitted. Cheers.

Where did you have it refurbished? Ecutesting give a lifetime guarantee. A unit refurbed by them should be more reliable than a new one in theory. I think it’s because they use a much better lube on the brushes.

If you are quick ECU are offering repaired units with £60 off the normal price. Had mine repaired a week ago and much easier price to swallow @ £186 all in including delivery there and back.
