Hi

Probably a long shot, but has anybody got a spare DSC Sensor (34526769174) for sale?

Cheers! :driving:

May i ask what issue you are having? I would like to compare it to mine, which i think may have a similar issue, thanks.

I had (hopefully) a leak, which broke my old unit.

This thread might be of interest to you: https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=119106&p=1705260&hilit=34526769174#p1705260

Bascially explores and confrims the interchangability of pre vs post facelift parts. The pre-facelift part being far cheaper.

I have same issue, and opted for the pre-facelift part mentioned in that thread. They're plentiful on eBay, and much more affordable.

I've not fitted, but it should work based on folks experiences from that thread.

Thanks, I have PM'd the OP in that thread to see if he can shed anymore light. I always get conflicting answers, including the people who sell/refurbish the things.

When are you planning on fitting yours?

Best case - the June BH weekend
Worst case - probably in October sometime

Most likely somewhere between those 2 though, whenever we get 2 sequential days of rain-free weather (if such a thing exists)

I plan on updating that thread with the outcome whenever I do, keep an eye on it.

Great, thank you.

Might also be useful to know: my friend/mechanic picked up a sensor (I have no idea on the model as I didn't get to see it, but I'm pretty sure it's not the one you have, so not the correct item) which is currently in the car and works, but I still get the error code and orange handbrake light. I even had another mechanic try to reset the whole DSC system but it wasn't having it.

By this point I should have just bought the part with a matching serial!

I had the 3 lights and it was the DSC/Cluster sensor.

I don't have one but I can confirm this is the correct part number, I had to replace mine recently. It is quite confusing establishing the correct part number as some sites say the cheaper part is compatible but it is not.

Thanks. Yeah I have already replaced the sensor once but not with the correct part, and it reduced from the three lights on the dash to just the orange handbrake light and one error code.

The conflicting advice is throwing me off too!

That's interesting, particularly that it removed some, but not all of the lights.

I have the trifecta of lights and error code 5E30, which I'm really hoping the 34526764018 part which I have (that supposedly works) actually does the business. Will hopefully have an update within the next fortnight.

I think the part number is different for the M version.

From my messages, the fault code present on mine is 5E34 if that info is worth anything to you.

Ah, well that would make a load of sense! Thanks

Hey Calps, did you successfully fit that older sensor ?
Same issue here; wet carpets, lights trifecta, dead speed sensor (34526769174)
Z4 2008 Roadster 3.0i error code 5D8C (also seems to have triggered related codes before dying: 5E19, 5DC3, 5DA3, 5D93, 5DF4)
Anyone else successfully fitted the 34526764018 as a replacement (vs original 34526769174) ?

34526769174 can't be found for cheap;
34526764018 : common and cheap on Ebay

Will probably setup INPA later this year but I understand that the sensor shouldn't require reprogramming once swapped, right?

Will post a similar question on the other thread as well,

Thanks!

Hey 123qweasd,

Unfortunately haven't fitted it yet. I've noticed that when the weather is good, the lights go away (presumably because any moisture dries up), and so the mantra out of sight, out of mind has taken over. I'm expecting the damp weather of late will have a nice surprise waiting for me when I take it out again though, so this will get bumped back up my to do list, along with a door membrane inspection to understand how water is getting in. (Ideally if I solve that, I may not need to change the part at all).

Sorry I can't be of more help at this time, but I'll update back here once I complete it.

Calps
