DSC Sensor Interchangeability face-lift/preface-lift 3452 6769174

Guess I'm in the same boat,
wet carpets, lights trifecta, dead speed sensor (34526769174)
Z4 2008 Roadster 3.0i error code 5D8C (also seems to have triggered related codes before dying: 5E19, 5DC3, 5DA3, 5D93, 5DF4)

Anyone else successfully fitted the 34526764018 as a replacement (vs original 34526769174) ?

Will probably setup INPA later this year but I understand that the sensor shouldn't require reprogramming once swapped, right?

Thanks!

Hello, first time post.

I’ve installed 34526764018 in a post facelift car (original installed Part Number was 34526769174) I’ve had some success, but am unable to run the longitudinal calibration in INPA.

INPA is communicating with the sensor, as I can run the lateral calibration and am down to only having a yellow brake light.

When running the longitudinal calibration, INPA throws an ECU conditions not correct error and the MK60 module error log shows an error 5E34.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Exact Same scenario here ; ( installed 34526764018 in a post facelift car - original installed Part Number was 34526769174)

did you manage to clear the yellow brake light?

I do have INPA working but haven't tried the calibration yet. Will probably do so tomorrow.
Is the calibration option easy to find in the menus?
Can you confirm under which module name or number / sub-menu ?

Thanks!

Edit Solved:
The prefacelift dsc sensor part no 34526764018 does work on a facelift E86. Way cheaper than the facelift part number 3452 6769174. This sensor throws error code 5E38. hope this helps someone with the dreaded 'trifecta' of tcs, tyre warning and handrake lit in yellow.

Hi guys,

I Had the trifecta of lights on the dash (dsc, handbrake and pad warning) all in orange.
I read the codes (dis V57) and got 5E38 which is the dsc sensor located under the drivers seat, as well as others for wheel speed sensor etc which are now all sorted, (full new knuckle, hub and sensor etc) . I have removed the unit and the part number is 3452 6769174-03, these seem rare as only fitted to face lift E85/E86.
The earlier pre face-lift unit is part no 34526764018 which real oem seems to say is exchangeable retrospectively, but it doesn't seem to be the same in reverse, or am I reading it wrong?

Can anyone tell me if the pre Face-lift version will work on a face-lift E86? plenty of the earlier part around but later one seems rare and expensive (£230 to send away for repair, £550 ish new).

Alternatively if anyone has one going for a fair price then that would be great!

Thanks in Advance for any input

Hi Chris, can you confirm that the handbrake yellow light disappeared right away with no other changes or software/firmware update? I still get the yellow handbrake light and at least another poster has the same issue so looking for solutions. I have INPA and NCS installed.
Thx

Did any one get to the bottom of this? I have also just installed a pre facelift sensor which has removed the three warning lights but still left with a yellow handbrake warning light. Any help would be really appreciated as I can’t bring my self to pay £500 for the post facelift sensor. :o

Unfortunately the 34526769174 part is the only one that works on the facelift cars. My advice is to do what I did and search the secondhand car parts in North America. I found one very quickly over there and the total cost including delivery was $220. Please beware there is import duty from the USA. This was by far the cheapest way to sort the problem. I even tried E46 sensor all sensors I tried 3 in total all gave an error. But the correct part from America fixed the issue straight away.

Thank you for the quick reply, any chance you have a link to the website you used to search for the part as i will try that before giving up and buying a new one. TIA :)
