dsc query

does anybody else here sometimes feel that even with dsc switched off that there is still some amount of electronic driver aid in operation, some times i feel if planting my foot a bit hard as i exit a bend that the throttle response is restricted, obviously not to the extent that it is with traction on but still restricted. need to try it again because i was in third when probably should have been in second, which i guess would explain the slow response in the power coming in. any thoughts

DSC = off and sport = on?

I feel the electronic throttle does have a slight delay over direct cable, but I've never had a problem with spinning the car around in a tight space with it off

This very aspect was discussed a while back in another M thread, I can't seem to find it now. While the consensus was off is indeed off, several have had experiences similar to yours, which was the impetus for the ensuing discussion. I too have experienced this effect. In my case, I'm pretty sure it's due to driver error, though I'm not really sure what I am doing wrong. Yes, I do not have an M, and the DSC thresholds are different, but off is still off.

From my personal experience when it's off everything's off. Occasionally the throttle response might seem inconsistent but as far as I can tell it's not a matter of DSC interference as it sometimes does it either On or Off. I consider it an electronic brain fart. :)

I believe it's the vanos that gives that feeling like the traction is intervening.

With the DSC off it's definitely off.
