Ok so years 2016 i had the usual 5df0 fault and had the unit repaired.

Up to now the units been fine, I got home other day and there was no lights on dash, but yesterday i started the car and was instantly greeted with the 3 yellow warning lights, hand brake, traction, tyre pressure. Turned car off and light went off and all seemed fine until 6 mile down road all 3 came on, now turning engine off and on it remains.

All tyres pressures are fine, asked local garage whos reader has seen steering angle fault previously. but this time it said cant communicate with DSC

So i have just checked the following fuses, removed them all and re inserted

ASC/DSC - 7, 24, 42, 43

on plugging one back in you could hear the pump turn for a few seconds, also the clock setting has been lost, no biggie but dont get why with them fuses

I have checked fluid level, battery is 5-6 years old, but shows 12.4V engine off 13.8-14v engine on

is there anything else that can be checked? car is a 2007 coupe

Get it plugged into INPA, ISTA or other diagnostics that can read the brake pressure sensors, wheel speed sensors and steering angle sensor live date.

Press the brake pedal and check for plausible data.

Check the speed sensors for plausible data when moving.

Check the steering angle sensors data is smooth and uninterrupted when slowly turning from lock to lock.

Are there any codes present?

the garage couldnt find anything, just usual bulb errors for some reason my inpa wont read certain modules "interupted signals"

but got into the dsc module and got this

ACtC-3fExUU9FB1TW_CI_IjETelsAC2apKz0-AnESX0YX0P-DGgkJat6B7drwc5m9R9fKeIWhToeTGfykiArkZP3ztN0VTvdhPAxkgPMTmAyPkXB_BGU-dgFxqJBFqcJOGtSihrJVHkHpuEyBwKm9LFWVku2eA=w682-h707-no

but i can see the above

when i tried to calibrate it my inpa wont go into the shift f1 menu

Well got ista working, still get odd communication error. but cleared fault took it for a drive still no error lights, slammed on and abs worked, had traction light flashing on acceleration, fault hasn't returned

There are no brake pressure sensors on the N52 but the fact that you have those 3 lights on means a code MUST be stored somewhere. I would suspect either steering angle sensor or ABS sensor.

no idea, all them 3 came on, after running some tests, hearing abs module do stuff, DSC light came on, run clear codes, none on

Id like to get ista or inpa fully working rather than on live data and other bits saying communication error, but its always done that despite googling diff settings re installing software

INPA can be a bitch to get working properly if you have a finicky laptop. Maybe better off getting something like a C310+ scanner from Amazon for the sake of £50... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Creator-System-Engine-Reader-Diagnostic/dp/B01MPZTM5Q/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=c310%2B+bmw+scanner&qid=1602174284&sr=8-1

Check the wiper voltages of the SAS - see screenshots of my SAS failure

Turned out mine was the SAS itself.
Voltages were intermittent

Yeah i've had steering angle sensor re calibrated twice, but its usually after cars been on ramps, but fault turns up a day later.

The ista software cleared the fault, drove 7 mile on all kinds of roads and it hasnt come back.

As my software not working right i looked at the analoge angles and it showed in middle but soon as you move wheel the software has the communication error, but thats same on all live data

I have been looking at a hand held one, cant remember model, but seems odd garages fancy touch screen wifi one couldnt find fault and clearing all faults didnt do any thing
