Drought? What Drought?

So, we have a drought and hosepipe ban in place in the Anglian water area.... with the rain we've had for the past 3 weeks (and more forecast this week) the river levels are at their highest since the last floods in 2007. To cap it all, the water is at such a high level its being left to run off into the sea.

.... and the latest on the hosepipe ban? Estimated until Christmas, at least..... :headbang:

I feel for you. I live near the Brecon Beacons and it has been raining here pretty much non-stop since 1996....

Come to think of it, why did I buy a roadster??

I know. I walked to work today and had to get my brolly out. Why does this country not save the water?? Crazy people. Wish we didn't have a hosepipe ban too.

Slightly on a tangent, but what do people like Australia do??? Eh. And other places that have a hot climate for much of the year, like Hong Kong? :tumbleweed:

They invest in their systems and not let it all run to the sea and when it stops raining, think ... hmm, now what :x

Yup, apparently here it is all the Victorians' fault... Overseas I guess they spend less time moaning and more time doing. After a lovely weekend my car is now minging :x

On the plus side, I raked my front lawn to within an inch of it's life, fertilised, top-dressed and seeded it 2 days before the hosepipe ban, and as a result of our 'drought' I noticed yesterday that it's all starting to grow, with absolutely no aftercare effort whatsoever
