Droopy Rearview Mirror

The rear view mirror on my 2010 35i is quite heavy, I believe it has a system in side it for paying road tolls in Japan (but I could be completely wrong about that :? ). Either way it has become rather droopy and I am consistently having to re-adjust it as it falls when driving over rough roads.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is there an easy way to tighten the mechanism that holds it onto the car so it doesn't keep falling?

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Cheers.

If there is a slot on the right hand side that would accept a credit card, then it is for a motorway toll card. I use it in mine.
Don't have the movement problem though.

Had a look and yes there is a card slot in the side. I wonder if I can dismantle the mirror and remove this set-up to may make it lighter and less prone to slipping down.

If youre still on runflats some decent tyres might help!! Or if you are they only driver, get it in the right place and a drop of superglue

I wish there was a rear view mirror you could actually see what's behind with roof down. Mostly i see sky.

Runflats were gone before I purchased the car. On Saturday we had a stinking hot day and with the roof down the interior was in the direct sunlight which seemed to make the problem worse. I must have adjusted the mirror 10 times on a 1 hour journey. I think the superglue idea maybe worth a try. Cheers

If heat makes it worse then its likely that the samll ball/socket joint has simply worn, heat will expand the cup and make it looser - go get the glue champ :-)
