I'm considering buying a secondhand DJi mini 2 or 3 specifically to take pics. I dabble in a bit of photography and have some decent SLR kit and would quite like to add a few aerial shots into the montages I may for our club. I've no interest in doing anything else but like the idea of just flying the thing up 50 feet or so, grab a few snaps (may be a vid) and back to to earth. Ive read the rules and regs and both the mini 2 and 3 are under any weight limits and I'm not interested in flying over people or property.

Anyone with any experience got any thoughts to share?

I purchased the DJI Mavic mini combo during a lock down in July 2020, they are truly wonderful things and have just got better with each iteration. Like you I purchased for the photos, that is capturing memories when out walking, holidays, and to document the building work on our house. Don't use it much anymore, there is now an issue with the gimbal sticking, a common fault.
