Drone - tyre noise?

Driving home with the top down the last few days, I can hear what I can only describe as a definite drone coming from the drivers side wheel. With the top up it's not noticeable at all but top down it really is.

Do runflat tyres exhibit such traits?

Only other thing that springs to mind is a wheel bearing - but it's only on 22k so this is crazily premature if so!

I think you've mentioned the 2 possibilities I would be look at.
Check your tyre preasure is it a bit low ?
Jack up the car see if there is any play on the wheel.

Yeah checked tyre pressures, all bang on in all honesty!

Got the full BMW warranty with it - so going to get it booked in to be checked out!

Surprised if it is after 22k miles though.

I have had tyre drone in the past with a set of Falkens. First time it happened I was convinced a wheel bearing was out. Turns out was just the noisy Falkens. Michelins are much quieter on my car. Fortunately the Falkens don't exhibit the same behaviour on my 330d, guess its down to tyre size, weight and geometry.
