Driving with the roof down at night!

Anybody else do it? You do get some strange looks admittedly but get some watts into the seats and the heaters turned up and I think it's a great experience... especially on a clear night. Guys at work think I'm a weirdo!

+1

Roof only up if its parked or I can't drive fast enough to stop the inside getting wet  Did Manchester back to Norfolk on Monday night top down - if not it wasn't worth buying a roadster!

Thinking about driving fast enough how fast do I need to go to do this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeKMXO7ztXM

Mine was down when I went to pick the wife up from the station last night, passed someone else with it down as well. However, now she has a koala hat with bright pink bobbles, she might have to stay out of the car...

I thought it was illegal to drive with the roof up

Last week I drove from Poole to saddleworth. Set off at 10pm and got back at 2am. At 2am it was 1.5 degrees. My knees and hands were numb but I did it :)

Was probably my favourite thing about roadster ownership. Early morning NC500 blasts, especially.

Totally agree, why wouldn't you put the roof down at every available opportunity, during the summer someone at work thought my roof wasn't working as he'd never seen me with it up ! Looking forward to parking up on the seafront this weekend to watch a fire work display, roof down nice and warm in the cockpit listening to some metal, perfect

Yes, I do it all the time, but you do get some strange looks. Heated seats on and heating on high. If the cars on the road, the roofs down!

One of my favourite times to drop the hood is at night. Love looking at the stars!

Did it years ago in an MGB until one winter night it felt as though I was driving through a series of cobwebs that I kept trying to brush off my face. Then realised that it was the veins in my face freezing up! Heaters not so efficient then. Happy with a coupé now.

I'd say, anyone who thinks its weird or gives you funny looks hasn't ever tried it themselves. :driving:

I love it at night, London at night with the roof down is great. Cold mornings too, heaters up, seats on and it’s lovely. Not just for the sunny summer days!

Agreed, driving to & from work on nightshift is pretty special with the roof down 8)

Just got in after an hour and a half in the E89. Roof down, -0.5 deg, heated steering wheel on, seat on heat setting one, blower on setting 2....100% clear night with the stars showing and a near full moon. Enjoyed every single mile, I LOVE roadsters..... :D
