Driving shoes/trainers - anyone use them?

Wouldn't have specific driving shoes as I couldn't be bothered with changing shoes when I get somewhere and does it really make that much of a difference.....
Sometimes drive in trainers but very rarely as I don't wear them generally. I find all shoes are ok in the Zed, never caught boots on the peddles or any other footwear for that matter. Drove the Zed in wellies on more than one occasion without any issue.
 
Either Adidas Sambas for general wear, or a pair of Lonsdale high-tops if I'm going weightlifting. Either works for me :)
 
Not sure about Wellies Wyldie for the driving in the Zed :lol: but I get your point.

I wear mostly Chelsea type boots and the heels stretch the top of your foot unnaturally when on the pedals - on a long drive it can become literally a pain. My trainers give more comfort and ease of movement - useful when heel and toeing over Hartside :driving: :thumbsup:

Anyone absolutely feel the outlay is worth it for specialist footwear?

Adidas Sambas are great for driving. Adidas also do a very thin trainer with very little grip in the bottom, don't know the name but they were epic for driving, crap for walking any distance though.

It's a personel thing. You don't need them but you don't need a lot of things. If you want them, get them but if you feel they are overpriced (and they are) and it would grate and niggle then don't.

My car is my hobby and for my standard of driving it probably doesn't make any difference whatsoever but I like them and if driving any distance I will wear them and change at my destination. I did this with my Converse boots (Allstars on here) as well.
 
Being able to drive safe and well in 4 inch heels is a great achievement and I do it most days :D

....oh and on long journeys I may or may not drive in stockinged feet or even barefoot in summer, I'll grab my flak jacket now :poke:
 
I have had a pair of Adidas Goodyears for years and never knew they were classed as driving trainers. :| :|
 
I've got a collection of Pumas, Drift Cat, Speed Cat, Future Cat and Racing Cat. I use these when in the Elise as the pedals are quite close together and metal. If going work I always change out of my smart shoes into trainers.
