From my limited experience it is important when staying in North Wales to find somewhere that is friendly and serves good food. When we stayed on the Lleyn Peninsula we couldn't find a single dog-friendly place where we could eat well and the locals in the pubs are not universally friendly to the English.

The 3 days i spent in North Wales i can honestly say the locals were very accommodating & everyone i overtook seemed very friendly & understanding :D

So today I booked this hotel on Lake Vyrnwy https://www.lakevyrnwy.com/

Roll on June!
Just remember to wear your Wales rugby shirt. :D :D

I'll be watching series 1 & 2 of Gavin & Stacey just so I can pick up some of the lingo!

Oh wait a minute, that's a South Welsh accent :headbang:  :D

Stayed there a few years ago, was very nice. We used to picnic up at the lake when the kids were young every other Sunday during the Summer

When you go to Lake Vyrnwy be sure you do the drive to Bala Lake over the Hirnant Pass it's an unclassified road so not suitable in winter or high speed driving but it's stunning and worth the every minute. We came back that way today as we wanted to book a night in the Lake Hotel for my birthday in April. Here are a few pics.

Have a great time!

Try Menai bridge :o
I was staying at my mates holiday house along the road with the long name , lllggg whatever , and we took a taxi to Menai for Sunday lunch and it was far from the friendliest place I've ever visited , when I mentioned it his wife said they had the same problem , until someone recognised him and that he used to play football for Wales many years ago and even then they weren't that friendly !
We reckon things change once you get over those bridges :poke:
I can understand the problem though , people buying holiday homes , not using them that often but driving prices up so people who have lived there all their lives struggle to get on the ladder .

Thanks for the info and the tip Hilly30si. It looks right up my street. Just over two months to go!

Your Disco looks very nice too. I'd love to get one when I upgrade my CRV.

Paul James. Funnily enough it was supposed to be Paul John but my dad was pissed when they registered the names, and blurted it out wrong.....
Found the plate in the back of a paper. Had been looking for ages and they listed it at £145!!! Would have been rude not to!
Let me know if you ever think of selling yours - would be a cool set.... 8)

This looks fantastic, I'm glad to hear you've given the thumbs up!

I hope you had the weather, like the majority of the country today. I'm going the second week in June. I need to start planning the driving route and points to stop of so Mrs B can take some photos.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay.

The weather was fantastic but clouded over late afternoon

Well, now I have to get planning my next Wales trip thanks to you guys!

Went last year and we got perfect weather every day, although a little windy! Can imagine it being FAR more fun with no pesky roof in the way

Another pic for Lewis this is the restaurant at the Lake Vyrnwy hotel
