Some advice appreciated
Next month I'll touring around the Repblic of Ireland for just over a week. I don't really want to put a Huuuge GB sticker on the back of the Zed (none EU number plates)
Chatter on the web ranges from I'll be fined, through slapped wrist to 'nobody bothers'
Anyone with recent first hand experience?

Hmmmm
The simplest solutions......
Never even considered that
My mate has a car parts business as well so they won't cost the earth
Thanks
SWMBO is panicking over it - I was just going to play dumb if stopped and say it had fallen off!

I work in ireland 5 odd days a month... It will be fine as it is... NI cars have the same yellow and white plates as the UK (but a different plate format) and they dont have UK or NI on them.

Hardly spot the garde anyway... They spend all their time in the pub!

Never had a GB sticker, been all over the place including ROI.

Went I went to France a few years ago I bought stick on number plate ones similar to these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-GB-Euro-Number-Plate-Vinyl-Car-Stickers-EU-European-road-legal-decal-badge-/261565260655?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3ce681236f

I wouldn't bother. Being Irish, I drive back twice a year and in 15 years nothing has ever cropped up to make me question whether a sticker is needed or not.

If the police can't recognise a UK plate there is not a lot of hope.

Thanks for all the advice. To keep the missus happy I think I may go with the stick on Euro symbol (if there is room left on the plate)
Or I may be brave and go au natural
Just hoping for some half decent weather now.

I never bother when abroad, but the GF wanted to be sure when we went to France last year so she bought a wee magnetic GB badge. It stayed on! I dont bother with the lights either. Mind you, you wont have to in Ireland!
