driving in germany

Something I completely forgot to add its ok "pressing on" on UK roads but it's really strange and initially scary a) driving on the 'other' side of the road b) realising that occasionally there is NO speed limit and c) just how different a car reacts once you regularly drive at +140mph. Took me a few weeks driving on normal roads/speeds as well as Autobahns before I even attempted to go into the fast lane. Have fun though.
we are going to a place called cuxhaven. swmbo's best firend lives there and has just been diagnosed with cancer so its a last min thing just for the bank holiday.
its going to to be a long long day so i dont really want to go flat out, but you know when you can you will try
even if its only for a few seconds.
we are getting the tunnnel train at 4.30 ish and then turning left in france and heading stright there though belgium, netherlands and then germany.
tbh i will probably just settle to a speed im happy with and likely hood is that will prob be what i do here or just a little bit faster. i remeber going flat out in my v6 mundano. the dial said 150 but probably more like 130. it was too much hastle to keep that speed up and that was on a empty road, im expecting the z4 to be a little more stable than that car and hopefully not have a fuel guage that goes down like the countdown clock
thanks for the advice and all its usefull to have the little things like the loo money as i wouldnt have thought of that, and the driving stuff too. the reason i got this car is im moving on from a my westfield so im used to stuff pulling out and having to avoid/brake and most importantly anticipate. i swear to god that car is invisble even at wide open throttle when its noise level is ~101db. at least the bm has servo brakes, in the westy its just plain old how hard you press. no abs/tc/dsc/or even servo assistance. stomping on the pedal as hard as you can just results in locking 4 wheels. stopping suddenly from 80/90 in that can be a little puckering! anway you can never have enough advice.
gotta go and get all the junk i need, crap knows where im going to stick all the bits that you need in the car.

the lane seems to be much narrower the higher the speed you are travelling at

there are some very curvy parts of autobahns (for instance between frankfurt and kassel), where there is NO limit, but the curves are that sharp that most cars cannot do much more than 100 to 120 mph or they would fly off the road...
so take it nice and easy
most zeds are able to reach 155 mph, and they would crash trying to go this speed through such curves...
our zeds reach speeds that a few years ago were only possible using exotic sportcars, cars demanding highly skilled drivers when seriously driven
on the other hand
go 70 or 80 mph and you will feel pretty good as you will be driving among a lot of drivers, who know what they are doing...
