I have been living in Germany since August this year. And I must say that I have been pleasantly surprised at the overall good driving experiences here. The Germans drive hella fast, and are very assertive yet professional. The skill level here is pretty high. You see a few knobs here and there but they are the exception. And I have seen very few drivers lounging in the fast lane on the autobahn. (a huge problem in the states) If you run out of gas on the autobahn and the polizei come along. you can get a very stiff fine for being an idiot.
I wish the folks in my homeland(USA)would take driving as seriously as they do here. I think a fair amount of american drivers barely realize that they are even in a car, even while behind the wheel of said car.
Don't mean to be so down on my fellow citizens. But that's just how it is.
It's been a learning experience for sure. The one thing that I don't like about driving here are the position of the stop lights at an intersection. The light is directly above the stop line on the road. And are near impossible to see unless you set your chin on the steering wheel and look straight up. With nice weather and a roadster it's not so bad.
Cheers
