Driving in France

If you do not have a GB or EU mark on your number plate then this is illegal!!

The plates have the EU approval mark in the corner as required by law, but the UK flag or EU one is the one I do not want. It imbalances the plate.

You must have either EU with the stars on the plate or GB on the side or a separate GB sticker.

Mine flew off last month and drove the length of France without it. Not worth the risk though!

As above and you are going to love driving in France.

GB sticker had mine in the rear window on two trips last year but top was down most of the time never got any hassle

Speeding as said the fines are huge now they were handing out on the spot 750 Euros last June :o and an instant ban but that is for very high speed you can normally cruise at around 100mph and be OK as the spedd limit is 85mph just keep your eyes peeled.

Mobile phone is a big NO NO big fine even if sitting in traffic not that i had to worry never have mine turned on in the car.

In towns you have to give way to cars coming from the right its a strange one.

First Aid Kit you must have

Expect to be tailgated :D even in a Z4

Thanks a lot guys. I'm in belgium. crossed channel, reached calais and then to bruges and brussels. Tomorrow drive to france. So far so good. I had eventually take my car to dealer for adjusting lights. I couldnt find the damn lever and they wouldnt show me where it is. Cost me 42quid. bloody dealers. I hope I can do it my self after i come back. Pissed off with the dealers. I will try to avoid motorways and take rural roads through north of france and get to paris. will update.
