Driving Gloves ?

I don't particularly like wearing gloves but, in a convertible, there are times when you just need something to keep your hands warm, so I've compromised on a pair of fingerless gloves with a palm grip - like these

I wear a pair of Dent driving gloves when using the Z3 during the winter, wouldn't be without them as my ACS knob can be painful :)

dragging up an old post, driving with the top down i can cope with except my hands, so who uses gloves and what sort?
 
I use gloves when it's cold. Just black M&S leather ones, not too big so they are tight round the fingers & palm. I think they cost £19 or something. Also got a woolly hat, which stops my left ear freezing off.
 
I think that if you must wear gloves, then get some black micro fleece mountaineering gloves with the grippy palm. - North Face/Mountain Equipment. i.e. not 'driving gloves' :wink:

Or buy an E89 with a heated wheel? :)
 
My new pair for this winter in the Zed, lovely soft deerskin and very comfortable and thin enough to use switches etc without bumbling :)

+1 on the black m and s leather gloves, got a pair for chrimbo a few years back and they're always in the glovebox, handy when scraping the windows too :thumbsup:
 
Yes - interestingly I always feel more in control wearing gloves. I have a pair of thin black leather gloves that are nearly falling apart from being used in the Zed and a pair of brown light leather gloves that I wear less often but also have splits and holes worn in them. I'm amazed how much punishment they seem to take. In the summer having the holes in the back of gloves make sense even if it does look old fashioned.

I always used flying gloves in the microlight 3 axis I leant in, not just for the cold. They were made of kangaroo skin (I think) and although they got quite mucky they never wore out.
 
I still have a pair of pig skin flying gloves somewhere from when I was in an air squardon at university. Amazing things, so comfy and warm, but very thin and tactile. They're (dirty) white though, so I'd look a right once wearing them :D

Is it pig skin, that must be it then as mine were RAF issue - like you I don't think they look quite right worn in the Zed :lol:
 
If I wore a pair of those, I'd have to start referring to the car as 'she', as in 'she purrs', and sound like Swiss Toni... Not good.
