Drivers side door handle-door not opening/hard to open from outside

When I go to open the door from the outside, the handle doesn't seem to open the door very easily. It feels like the handle is pulling on somethinf but it doesn't seem to open the latch to open the door very often now.

any ideas? Possibly just needs grease somewhere?

It does feel like a cable has been stretched actually. Is it an easy fix?

I took it to my Indy
As didn't fancy messing
I think I had the complete unit replaced as apposed to just the cable,
If you like I can find the invoice an let you know much

The part description on the invoice is
handle carrier
£55
Fitting was £45
Probably plus vat
On mine you had to pull the handle all the way to the top of its movement for the door to pop
Easiest comparison was against passenger side which would pop with maybe less than half the movement

That will be it! So I need to buy a "handle carrier"?

I'd spoke with my Indy describing the issue
An he order the part
An if it didn't require said part or it was something else
It would be sent back at no cost to me
Might be worth a look on real OEM to see if they list a part under that name

Hey there Z4all.
Did you get this fixed? And did you need to replace the door carrier? Part 4 in realoem.
I have the same issue with my car too.

I didn’t do anything. It was a problem for w little while and then went away. Wasn’t a problem really this summer just gone either.

Mmmm
It may be that the striker plate had moved? I resolved my issue with the door handle excessive movement and my door sitting out of alignment, by adjusting the striker plate and loctiting the bolts.
