Drivers door handle

So, might as well try and crack on with any issues while I'm at home! The outside driver side door is becoming more resistant to opening and now needs a good yank up to get it to actually open the door. The handle insude is working fine, it's only the outside handle taht's causing the issues.

Now, is this likely to just be a strip and clean sort of job, or is it going to be a worn out cable and thus something I can't realy resolve with the dealers being shut?

Either stretched Bowden cable, teeth worn off the handle where they contact the lifting cam or the pin that holds the handle to the door handle support has elongated the plastic holes allowing the handle teeth to move away from the lifting cam thus not achieving full movement.

Either way a full strip down and inspection will be needed to fully diagnose.

Probably worth me getting the parts in on a returnable basis then? Bowden cable and handle mount seem like the two most likely?

Got to inspect it pal, usually if the pin is worn the teeth will be worn and more force needed to open.

How long has it been hard to open?

Noticed it geting worse since around Feb time, if I put my knee against the door when opening its much easier which suggests the cable from what I've read?

If you look in reolem under bodywork you find door locks. The part you need is no4 carrier.I bought one about two yrs ago ,cost about £86 from Sopers Lincoln .

By applying pressure to the door you are just removing some of the force placed on the lock mechanism which will mask any of the above problems.
