Driver window buttons not working

Had the AA fix a miss fire and after that drove the car this evening and the driver side 4 windows don't operate, they worked once and now stopped, the wing mirrors work fine and when you take roof off.
Please help only had the car 4 months

Sounds like the unit is faulty, this can happen when moisture gets into the PCB, this then burns out the circuit and the only option is to replace the whole thing.

You can buy used ones, but you never really know how long they'll last.
This is the cheapest brand new, genuine, one on eBay...

Thank you Dave, it works intermittent but just fed up tbh as a bit of rain yesterday and this happened after AA came out. Is it easy to fit yourself?

Echoing the post…I had this issue on my 20i following an inadvertent washing of the switch by moi…stopped working in exactly the same way…but..it was very warm and two days later returned to active service….its pretty easy to pop out in the normal BMW push fit style..

Oh ok brilliant I will leave for a few days and see what happens but hope it starts working again.

Easy to replace, you have to note that there is a piece that sticks backwards (shown with the arrow on the photo), so prise up from the front and then slide forwards to remove and slide in backwards and then down at the front to fit. It has a standard BMW slide-clip connector for the wiring loom and you're all done

And just to add, not all had folding mirrors so make sure you get the correct switch unit.

There are 4 different versions!!

You could take the switch unit to bits and brush/clean the circuit board with 99% isopropanal alcohol and clean all the other inside gubbins too.

If when opened it looks and feels like a sugary drink has been spilled into the switch then wash everything with soapy water except of course the circuit board.

Does it illuminate ?
My switches failed with windows stuck down.
Door card off i clean contacts on connector and refitted, no problem since.
Must be bad negative, reason why illumination out.

Yes all is fine now left it for 2 days now working again.
