Driver training options

Looking for some driver trianing later this year. I would consider myself track day experienced but always keen to smooth things out and learn more. Has anyone used this bunch?

or got recommnedations?

I can recommend Andy Walsh at CarLimits:
http://www.carlimits.com/

I've done 2 days at North Weald (airfield) and one day on circuit at Llandow. Plenty of 1:1 time and he adapts the instruction to your current standard. The dvd is also well worth a watch. At N.Weald you will spin, a lot!

These are the bits I remember from North Weald:
Cadence braking - improving your braking distance
Consistent steering technique - hand positions through a slalom course
Understeer circle - increasing speed gradually to the point where increasing steering lock further has zero effect
Oversteer - taking a corner faster and faster, dealing with the resulting slides
Timed course runs

Most memorable techniques for me were intentionally locking the front wheels to recover from extreme oversteer, and using very mild left foot braking just to alter the balance of the car (i.e. increase front end grip) rather than scrub speed.

I did a day with Andy Walsh last week in a 318i courtesy car (Big thanks to my main dealer !). Learnt quite a lot, £199 for a 4 person day.

If you were on this side of the pond, I'd say the BMW Performance Driving School, Bondurant, Petty, or even the local BMWCCA chapter.

Don Palmer has a great reputation too. Expensive though.

Apart from the instruction, I love the way they can so quickly assess the quality of your car: dampers, geo, tyres etc.

Raify and I did an Andy Walsh day together, great fun finding the limit of the car and messing around, perhaps not so useful for track specific work though (I spent the last part of the day doing massive burnouts :D )
