Reversing in the garage and I hit the side...it's just dangling now...fml

(If you dont already know) I would recommend using coarse sand paper (220 grit) to rough up the surface. Then make sure you clean everything very well. Follow the instructions on the epoxy very well and make sure you cover the entire joint. Also apply it to as much surface area as possible.
As an experiment, you can also try adding some wire mesh as reinforcement. The glue will break at the weakest point so the reinforcement helps spread the load and help hold it together. Like this diagram:
