Driver door not remote unlocking

If its not my ecu it's something else lol my driver side door has suddenly stopped unlocking with the fob. If I unlock with the key and then use fob to set alarm, the door locks. Possible arm motor issue? I've tried the usual YouTube videos recommending to insert key and press certain buttons. Still the same issue.

I was about to say the same.
Sounds suspiciously like the GM5 module to me.
It's around £40 to get yours fixed (unless it's a Star 12 version for some reason)
I believe you can fit another one but then need to code all your keys to it.
[ref]bigwinn[/ref], can you shed some light on this as I believe you've had some recent experience?
If it helps I have a standard GM5 module that could be swapped into it, but no idea what is involved in the key coding process.

Thanks so much. The less I drive the car the more I start to find little things lol
Best you get out there and drive it then.
Just think of the muscles you'll build with no power steering. :D

I'll have to make equal right and left turns lol to make sure one arm isn't bigger than the other lol.... Let's hope its a straight road to you lol

Is this the same problem that can affect the passenger side. As this door isn’t used very much I have found that the fob will lock both doors but only unlocks the drivers side. The lock button on the passenger side seems to raise just a fraction when trying to unlock but doesn’t come up enough to actually unlock. I thought it might just be sticking due to lack of use.

I am inclined to think that if the GM5 is playing up it won't send a signal at all.
In your case, with the lock trying to move then that sounds a lot more like something sticking.
Without meaning to sound facetious, the GM5 can't really send half a signal.
So I'd be looking at the mechanical side of things first.
What happens if you use the central locking button behind the gear lever? does it work ok with that?

Hi. Aha, hadn’t thought of that, so yes, just been and tried it from the central locking button behind the gear lever and it works ok, so I popped it up and down a few times using the button, them tried it from the key fob and it locked and unlocked, so must have just been sticking

Thanks

I always find after a period of non-use, everything works better once you've popped it up and down a few times. :D
