Driver display not working

Well Bmw are on their way out as the drivers display and the hud has stopped working. My wife didn’t seem keen on the idea of me just guessing the speed we was doing. I’m hoping all these electronic problems are sorted by the time the warranty runs out. I’m nearly betting when they turn up it will work without a problem again.

Of to Bmw it goes. Needs a new display. Sounds like it’s quite a common problem with the new z4 and some 3 series cars.

That doesn’t sound promising.
Extended warranty is a must on these expensive cars.

That’s disturbing. My G29 is almost 2 years old and has it’s first service next week.

No problems so far.

Mines not quite a year old yet. The technician that came out said he’d been to a few z4 with a dead drivers information screen. He at least did sound hopeful that the new screen will have been improved.

I realise that it’s a warranty issue for you on this occasion but I wonder what the cost would be out of warranty

It would be interesting to know if you can get some indication from BMW.

Sorry my wife has picked the car up so I didn’t get to ask how much it would have cost out of warranty. All working again now though.

Well I sold her car to go towards it, so I guess it might even be her car lol.

My days of letting girlfriends drive my car ended with my previous zed.
Immaculate alloys would come back scrapped badly and she wouldn’t even tell me!
