Point is I love pics like this taken from the same vantage point years apart, just thought it demonstrated change.

Take my picture from the same vantage point years later and I've changed for the worse - I got tramlines as well

But surely they're not the same statues? The first one has its hand more upturned with the thumb away from the other fingers, whiles the second has its hand more down turned with the thumb close to the other fingers.

Or is it just me? (the statue's not me!)

Glad you raised this as I was just about to say exactly the same, the angle of the pics are slightly different and thought maybe it was that :?

To me it looks like a different angle and the older pic has parts of the hand missing making it look more different than it is. Probably been fixed after the war.

Strangely, the more you look at it the more different they look to one another :?

I'm doing this on a small screen, but my first thought was that the statue in the more recent pic had an older-looking face the the other one.
