I replaced the standard aerial on my 2003 bog-standard Business radio with a (gen) stubby and didn't notice any difference in reception. Recently, however, FM reception has become almost un-listenable due to poor reception (static/weak signal/etc). I replaced the original aerial, but it hasn't made any difference. Any thoughts?

The stubby is for AM/FM reception - the main FM aerial is behind the rear bumper, and the FM amplifier is in the boot. See pages 10 -12 of the linked document
