Dreaded ABS pump/ module issues

???
I swapped out my exs on 2.5i for £800 new from bmw
Just ask around

I repaired one of mine earlier in about 90 mins at ZERO cost. My advice is NOT to pay stupid money for something you can do yourself.. See my post http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=101022

A further development that you guys may be able to help me out with. I think my ECU is toast. However the pump is fine. I've found another ECU online that would need reprogramming to my car. Would I be able to use my pump and a new ecu providing the part numbers match?

OP - Yours HAS been previously split and repaired, I can tell from the photos. Happy to have a look at it for you if you can get it to me?

Well I've been told by ECU testing that the ECU is dead but the pump is fine. Are you able to look at ECUs?

HAve they had it, if so why haven't they repaired it? It's quite rare for the ECU's to fail. 99% of the time it's the pump due to lack of use.

You asked if price was for pump or module
It was module the piece with ate stamp

Like the OP i have the 3452 6769164 Ate unit and it failed a few years ago.

It was sent to ECU testing in Derby who fixed it (bushes on pump side), and it worked great until recently when it failed once more. ECU testing were great in warranting their work, however advised on this occasion the fault was processor related, so essentially the module part had now failed, and not the pump they had worked on.

I'm now in 2 minds, as to whether to risk getting 34526778492 - the repair kit module (ECU testing didn't seem so convinced), or spending a little bit more and getting a whole new unit.

Again, like the OP says it looks like the whole DSC hydro unit has a new part code (34516778490) - can anyone confirm this?

Thanks

Liam

Hi all,

In a real nasty situation with the ABS pump/ module. Mine has died and seems it cannot be repaired. I'm in dire need of a replacement part since BMW want a lofty £2500.

Would anybody know if I have to use the same numbers or could I get a different part number and get its software refreshed? Also, does anybody know where I could get one from? The confusing part of this matter is down to the part numbers... I believe the 'overall' part number for both the pump and module combined is: 34516778490. However as you can see on the pictures it has other part numbers on the module (10.0961-0829.3/ 10.0614-3758.3) and the pump (3451-6778238-01). Thus funding a right one seems near impossible.

Huge thanks in advance for any help that can be given.

I'm sure this thread will become useful as it seems finding an ABS pump/ module for 2006-2009 cars is pretty much impossible. All our cars are getting to the age where they will need replacing soon, so any help will hopefully benefit everybody.
I had to buy a new unit, £2090 from main dealer for my '07 2.0 but you are welcome to my old broken one if any of the parts are of use to you, as someone mentioned, use the firm in Derby, I had a bad experience with BBA
