I'm sure I'm not the only one unhappy with stone chips, this tutorial looks too good to be true. Anybody got any experience of Dr. Colorchip?

Looks good. Depending on the colour of your car you could also do what I do and use a permanent felt tip marker and polish over the top. It works great for black cars and even using my DA polisher over the top doesn't remove it. In fact you get a better result using a DA over the top as it removes all traces of overspill.
 
As with any chip repairs flat colours are easier than metallics

I use Langka blob remover that is somewhat similar in that oyu build uo paint to fill the chip, allow it to part cure then flat off with a solvent. Was recommended it by US members and it works perfectly and uses oem paint

I think I am after Road Rash repair just as much as stone chip repair, another company recommended seems to be chipex, a UK company thus avoiding high tax/shipping costs
 
You can get Langkra on ebay for £30 plus P&P in the UK. Never hear of Chipex, but their retail looks like £49.99

As witha lll these I'm sure it's as much the user skill as the product
 
I've used Dr Colorchip with mixed results. On a flat black Alfa GTV it worked pretty well. It's sort of a great thing to do before selling a car as it will improve the appearance but you can definitely still feel the chips so it never feels (no pun intended!) like a proper solution, more a half-way house one. If you really want the chips gone you have to repspray; if you just want to improve the appearance it's worth a try. Go easy on the bottle of solution they provide to wipe the excess away with as that runs out fast but you'll have stacks of colour left. :|

I also tried Dr Colorchip on my silver grey M3: complete waste of time on that colour unfortunately; in my experience some colours work better than others...
