Double Din DVD Player WITH VENTS! new pics!

Just thinking about this as a possibility has me worried about how much more time and money I could spend on the z4 :-p
 
thanks everyone :D actually everything cost me about $500 to do. Its also a navi too, i just put that in..ill post more pics soon :D and more details
 
I think it would look even better with the aluminium dash trim and facia wrapped in carbon (or leather/Alcantara) so it all looked one piece. 10 out of 10 for creativeness. I would never of even thought about moving the vents and I have been thinking of double din HU's! :thumbsup:
 
One thing sprung to mind - would there not be a risk of the unit overheating if the vents are active and blowing warm air?

I'm assuming he has tubing going to the vents, is that what you mean? Or just in general?
 
Doesnt look as if the ducting has been altered so I'm guessing half of the heat will blow on the back of the unit.
 
Courageous and impressive.
Though ... I still think the best way to do this is to 'use' the hole in the top (where the satnav pop up fits in), and fit an iPad into it as a popup. I wonder if it would fit?? Anyone have the dimensions of the BMW satnav popup thingie?

it doesn't overheat, but they are active, they work like regular vents

Not sure how it would look in the dash. Doesn't look garish imho, but it's reflective black rather than the Z4's matte black.
