Door Won't Open - Window/Door Panel Removal

Wondering if anyone can help me out here.
The passenger door on my E85 doesn't open (and my window won't go down). I've read this can be an issue with them so decided to kill two birds with one stone and investigate the mechanism and drop in a regulator repair kit too. The door not opening has happened before but I opened it and just worked the mechanism a few times and it fixed it. I'm hoping this has just happened again and it needs some proper cleaning.

Anyways today I tried to access the goodies by trying to removing the door card/panel. I've removed all the screws in the door (behind Airbag logo, two in the door pull handle and one behind the door handle itself). I also removed the trim bit in the top corner with the small speaker in it.

But now I'm stuck. All guides I've found show removal of the panel with the door open, but how can I get to the door mechanism with the door closed? From looking at the way it's put together I just can't see how I could remove the door panel with the glove box and the passenger seat in the way.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated because not having a window that opens is one thing, but having a door that doesn't open is just too annoying for me.

Thanks!

You can get the panel off with the door shut, you just have to pull as usual, but you may break the top clip near the speaker, but it can be replaced..

It pulls straight out right (as in, in towards the inside of the car)

Well I got the door card off. I can move the mechanism which I assume actuates the door release itself but nothing!
I noticed that the locking pin on the top of the door (the one which pops up from the door when the car is unlocked using the central locking), this doesn't stay up. So normally, I'd be able to open the door from the inside, the little pin pops up and the door opens.

But now, it goes up slightly and then when I release the handle on the inside, it just goes back down. Almost as if it's trying to open but can't.

Is there anyway to manually override the mechanism in the door? I can move the door mechanism by pulling the door handle on the inside (or by pushing on the mechanism manually since the handle is now no longer connected with the card off). But I've trued WD40 and working the mechanism and nothing is working. It's trying to open and I can see parts moving.

I am so stumped, literally no idea!
Anyone shed some light on this please?
